About the Program

Artists:
Program Update on Thu., Feb. 11:  Due to the extreme weather conditions of the last several days, Bill Conti has not been able to travel to Washington.  For these concerts, we welcome J. Ernest Green, music director of the Annapolis Chorale, and express our appreciation for his stepping in at such short notice.

Join the NSO Pops and conductor J. Ernest Green for a concert that features excerpts of some of John Williams's best-known movie music, from Star Wars and E.T.: the Extra-Terrestrial to Raiders of the Lost Ark, as well as music composed by Michael Giacchino for Star Trek 2009. The concert opens with a number of winter favorites, including Jule Styne's "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" and selections from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
