All live and re-broadcast programs in the Performing Arts Series are broadcast via satellite and the web.

Satellite Reception

If you have access to a moveable satellite dish, you can participate in the programs during the live broadcast or tape them for future use. Your school’s media services technician or library resources coordinator should be able to assist you. Satellite reception information for each program is e-mailed to every registered participant prior to each broadcast.

Satellite coordinates for the 2008-2009 season will be published below as they are available (typically 30 days before a broadcast).

How do I watch the programs?

Satellite Reception

If your school has access to a access to a satellite dish, you can participate in the programs during the live broadcast or tape them for future use. Web Reception

At broadcast time, visit kennedy-center.org/pwtv and click on the "Broadcasts" link to access the current program. Please note that you must be logged onto the Performing Arts Series Web site using your username and password created during registration. RealPlayerTM is required to view the programs online, (a link to download this free software is available on all Performing Arts Series Web pages), and a high-speed Internet connection is recommended.

Television Networks/Providers

If your school does not have a satellite dish, your school system, local public television station, cable system, or regional media center may carry the series either live or a re-broadcast. Contact your local provider in your area for broadcast dates and times.

How do we participate?

Before, during, and after all live broadcasts, your students have an opportunity to ask questions of the artists. Encourage your students to e-mail questions to KCPerfArts@aol.com or fax them to (202) 416-8802, and be sure to include the name of your school and your city and state in your e-mail. Students may also call in with their questions during the LIVE broadcast by using the toll free number (800) 578-1396. We look forward to hearing from YOU!

Fair Use Guidelines for Teachers

Registered educators are permitted to tape each broadcast and use it in your educational institution for the life of the tape. You may duplicate and distribute pages of the online study guide among your colleagues and constituents. Programs are intended for the sole use of educators, administrators, and their students, and may not be licensed, distributed, given, or sold to any other person or institution without the express permission of the Kennedy Center Education Department. Broadcast Site License Agreement

Providers (i.e., PBS affi liates, regional media centers, educational networks, cable systems) may re-broadcast each program during the year following the original live broadcast. You must get express permission from the Kennedy Center Education Department to re-broadcast Performing Arts Series programs beyond one year following the original live broadcast. All programs in the Performing Arts Series are closed-captioned for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, are learning English as a second language, or are striving to master reading skills.
