The 2011 National Symphony Orchestra Season Opening Ball Sunday, September 25, 2011

Join us for this historic milestone as we inaugurate the 40th season of the Kennedy Center and celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra. This black-tie gala event will feature none-other-than Kennedy Center Music Director Christoph Eschenbach with world-renowned artists, violinist Joshua Bell and baritone Thomas Hampson, as they celebrate eight decades of superior classical music and usher in what is sure to be the most exciting and significant season to date. Following the performance, we will celebrate with dinner and dancing on the Kennedy Center South Plaza. All proceeds of the evening support the Orchestra's many artistic, education, and community outreach programs.
